The story

Beyond movement

Streets are experienced through more than traffic flow or physical appearance. Research co-authored by Professor Amir considers the multisensory, social and physical attributes that shape how people perceive a street.

Designing for people

The work examines pedestrians’ subjective perceptions and a cognitive approach to design, connecting walkability, greenery, sociability and safety with the experience of urban places.
