Research reaching practice
A government-funded BEAM Plus evaluation uses Professor Amir’s research on green-building rating systems and green roofs.
How the research was used
The rating-system comparison supports discussion of assessment criteria and greenwashing. The green-roof review supports the explanation of environmental benefits under the Low Carbon Passive Design credit. The report therefore uses the research in both its assessment-method discussion and its treatment of a specific design measure.
The documented contribution
10 April 2023 · Printed pages 19, 22 and 88 · References pages 112–113. This is evidence used in an evaluation of BEAM Plus, rather than proof that Professor Amir created or changed the certification scheme. The report separates team views from government views.
