The story

Research reaching national digital policy

Professor Amir Ghaffarianhoseini’s co-authored BIM research is cited in the UK Government’s National Data Strategy. In its discussion of data foundations and digital adoption, the strategy draws on the team’s work to explain barriers facing smaller construction businesses.

Understanding readiness in smaller construction firms

The 2016 study, “A BIM Readiness & Implementation Strategy for SME Construction Companies in the UK,” was co-authored by Ali Ghaffarianhoseini, Attiq Ur Rehman, Dat Tien Doan, Tongrui Zhang, Amir and Nicola Naismith with John Tookey. The strategy explicitly identifies it among four studies supporting its account of adoption challenges.
