The story

Research reaching practice

CTBUH Journal uses two of Professor Amir’s façade reviews in its analysis of energy-efficient high-rise envelopes in Tel Aviv.

How the research was used

The introduction cites Professor Amir’s double-skin-façade review for the lack of climate-specific design guidance, and the energy-conscious façade review for gaps in hot-climate research. These findings frame the professional design question that the authors then investigate through their own analysis.

The documented contribution

2020 Issue II · Pages 20–27 · Introduction page 21; references page 27. Professor Amir’s research frames the design problem; the authors’ simulations, proposed design and savings are not attributed to him. The primary PDF has been intermittently unavailable.
